And the story they told was: ‘Something which has existed since the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our own eyes, which we have watched, and touched with our own hands, … what we have seen and heard, we are telling you...'

And why did they tell Jesus’story? ‘...so that you too may be in union with us, as we are in union with the Father, and with his Son, Jesus Christ. We are telling you this, so that our own joy may be complete.’ 1Jn 1
